Bigwigs in the entertainment and corporate industry converged at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, recently for the 10th anniversary of Connak Foundation.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Connak Foundation, Carol Sunday, the foundation has a vision to tackle youth unemployment by creating opportunities for economic empowerment and growth, particularly in the eastern part of the country.
Founded by Ken Ukeagu, the foundation which was borne out of the passion to help the underprivileged has grown to become an organisation that is dedicated to promoting the education of children, build the capacities of youths and women, and improve the livelihood of indigent families.
The event began with a media parley where newsmen were briefed on the activities of the foundation. This was followed by a concert that featured performances by 2baba and other talented artistes.
The programme, which was anchored by comedians, Okey Bakassi, and Dan De Humorous, also witnessed a performance by Toiner B, the winner of the Connak Foundation Talent Hunt.

Revealing the next phase of the foundation’s activities, Sunday said, “To start with, we have conducted a need assessment in Igando community, Alimosho Local Government Area, and observed the challenge of access to potable water.
We have undertaken the installation of a borehole with complete water treatment and filtration device. We hope that this will lift the financial burden of buying water that underprivileged families in the area are current grappling with.
Guests at the event included Prof Pat Utomi; a former Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke; and a former First Lady of Oyo State, Florence Ajimobi.
