The Nigerians playing with ten players could not contain the onslaught of the Moroccans who had the control of the game from the beginning of the match to the end.
The Nigerians were docile at the forward throughout the second half of the game. They could not make much impact on the defence of the Moroccans with formidable attackers and midfielders who are faster and more organised than the Eagles.
The Moroccans scored their first goal at the 7th minute but was disallowed by the referee as it was said to be an offside.

Nigeria lost a golden opportunity 25th minutes of the first half.
A good catch by Ajiboye 30th minute of first half saved Eagles from conceding first goal in favour of Morocco.
But at 44th minutes into the first half Morocco had their first goal.
One of the Eagles player was sent out having received two yellow cards few minutes into the second half.
The coming in of Okpotu and Rabiu could not make any impact rather it worsens the Eagle defence.
The second goal for Morocco came 15th minutes of the second half. Ajiboye scuttled the terrific shots from the Moroccan twice before it finally hits the net.

The third goal for Morocco came 19th minutes in the second half in a space of four minutes through defensive error between the Super Eagles defender and the goalkeeper.
The Moroccans top it up at 27th minutes into the second half of the game making it their fourth goal to carry the African Cup of Nations Cup for the year 2018 for the second time.

The first time Morocco won the African Cup of Nations Cup that started in 1957 was in 1976 hosted in Ethiopia.
