President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected the Peace Corps of Nigeria Establishment Bill that was recently passed by the National Assembly.
He conveyed his rejection to the House of Representatives. The Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara read the letter to colleagues during plenary on Tuesday.

The National Assembly passed the in 2015 after prolonged battles involving other security agencies.
While explaining his rejection, the president cited security concerns and financial burdens of funding the organisation by the government as his reasons.
Buhari says the organisation is a duplication of existing security agencies.
