PRESIDENTIAL candidate in the 2019 general elections, Prince Adesoji Aderemi Adeleke (Masilo) has drummed his support for the inclusion of former President Olusegun Obasanjo portrait on the new redesign Naira note.
Masilo added his weight to Reno Omokri and former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar who had earlier called for Obasanjo’s portrait on the new Naira note based on his many achievements as a military Head of State and a civilian President for two terms.
In drumming his support, Masilo said Obasanjo is the only Nigerian leader living or dead who brought about peace and tranquility to Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
He went further that it was Obasanjo who paid off Nigerian foreign debts thereby saving unborn generations from economic bondage.
He said,
“Obasanjo deserved to be honoured considering his inputs and contributions to the socio-economic growth in Nigeria and Africa.”
“Nigerians should not forget easily that it was the same Obasanjo who willingly handed over power from military to democratically elected government of President Shehu Shagari in 1979.”

“Obasanjo is the only detribalised Nigerian leader whose appointments of cabinet ministers reflected the true federal character and surrounded himself with technocrats who knows their onions on the job. His pragmatism in foreign relations and relationship management offset our foreign debts for the first time in Nigerian history.”
“He deserves every honour due to a Nationalist and a leader of substance like Obasanjo who extended his hand of leadership for the emancipation of South Africa, Zimbabwe and many other West African countries and in area of peace keeping in sub-African countries.”
“It is my submission to urge the Governor of CBN and President Muhammadu Buhari to give honour to whom honour is due by using the portrait of Obasanjo on our highest Naira dominations, the N1,000.”
