A Corp member, Emmanuel Akinsayomi Ahmadu popularly known as Mr Voiceover whose story on how he wrote O-level 17 times within the space of five years and attended about 14 primary and secondary schools recently trended on various social media websites has taken to social media to celebrate his recent achievement on how he was recommended for state and national awards by NYSC officials of Kwara state where he recently completed a one year mandatory service.
The Corp member who shared his story on how he suffered from depression and suicide thoughts due to broken home and after writing O’level exams 17 times in 5 years, survived societal pressures, failures and setbacks before securing admission into the University.
He said he did not give in to the thoughts of committing suicide and has made up his mind to go across different states of the country and beyond to share his story to inspire as many as are in similar situation not to give in to depression and suicide thoughts, he has then become a global sensation and he is being celebrated for using his story to change the world.
Emmanuel who is a 2019 batch B stream1 Corp member serving in Oke-Oyi, Ilorin East Local Government of Kwara State released this information when the date for their Passing Out Parade (POP) was released from the National office in Abuja.
During his service year, he was able to carry a message of hope to about 50 secondary schools and some tertiary institutions across the state of his Primary assignment on curbing the menace of depression and suicide attempts among youths and adolescents.
In addition, the Corps member produced and distributed preventive kits(face masks) and embarked on sensitization programs against COVID-19 at Oke-Oyi community. He was able to distribute 500 face masks to various households in the community. The program was launched on 13th May at the Local government secretariat Oke-Oyi.
Before his service he had featured on various radio stations and TV stations in Kwara and other states. One of such stations include leading international television platforms in the world called British Broadcasting Commission (BBC). He was also recently given the privilege to feature in a program called YOUR VIEW on TVC this week Tuesday May 26th.
