Youths in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State took laws into their hands after the death of one their friends suspected to be a ‘Yahoo Boy’, Ajibola died after a hot chase by the Joint Task Force (JTF) resulting in a fatal accident.

The information had it that the boys numbering four went to the Just Rite Mall in Osogbo to buy food few minutes before the accident.
The Joint Task Force (JTF) chased the guys suspected to be ‘Yahoo Boys’ towards Gbongan Road, the driver lost its control killing one of the occupants sitting by the driver’s side instantly at ‘Afrika area’ of Osogbo. Three other occupants of the car are in critical conditions in the hospital.

The youths took to the streets beating Police Traffic Wardens at the Olaiya Junction, took the body of the dead with them to the Government House, dump him in front of the gate leading to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s residence.
One of the Amotekun Pick Up Vans was attacked in front of Ace Supermarket close to Okefia.
Governor Oyetola said he was disturbed by the sudden incident.

The Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode who spoke on Rave (91.7) FM said the incident was a very sad one for the state. She said investigation is ongoing to unravel the cause of the accident that lead to the death of young Ajibola.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Yemisi Opalola said it was not right for any police to check phones or laptops. Any police involved in such are on illegal duty.
She said further that many of the police vehicles were vandalised by the irate youths but her concern, for now, was to get to the roots of the matter in their investigations. She promised to give the outcome of their investigations today, September 16, 2020.
