APC Loses Its South African Chairman, Dr Olusola Abe Despite Troubles At Home, Buhari Sends Condolence

This is not the best of times for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) both in Nigeria and in faraway South Africa.

The party lost its South African Chairman, Dr Taiye Olusola Abe to the cold hand of death few days when it lost Senator Bayo Osinowo also at a time when there is upheaval in the party.

In a message of condolences by President Muhammadu Buhari signed by the Senior Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina to the family of Dr Abe, he said, “The President sympathizes with the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased, urging them to take heart, and praying that God will comfort them at this time of sorrow.”

Press Statement:

“President Muhammadu Buhari receives with sadness news of passage of Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in South Africa, Dr Taiye Olusola Abe, aged 65.”

“Dr Abe looked forward to a Nigeria that would take its rightful place among the comity of nations, and passionately believed in a resurgent country we could all be proud of. We will not relent in working towards that goal,” the President says.”
