Unconfirmed report had it that at least five people have killed on Friday.
A former student of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State, known fondly as Oloore and a motorcyclist were gunned down three days ago.
Oloore, who visited the Polytechnic a few days ago to do his clearance from the school, was hit by a stray bullet from the clashing hoodlums as he stepped out of his apartment to purchase an item.
The four other victims were killed around the Bode, Sagba and Asunmo areas of Ede as the violence went on.
The clash between a gang-controlled by Rasheed Oko-Ilu, a known hoodlum, and a team of Oodua Peoples Congress in Ede, which began last week, has led to the destruction of houses, shops and vehicles in the community.
The violence resumed on Thursday evening around 6:00pm as the two gangs attacked each other with guns and machetes, moving from one part of the town to the other to instill fear in people.
Terrified residents were forced to retire to their houses early while some others ran to other parts of the state for safety.
The traditional ruler of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal, who initially fled to Osogbo, the State Capital, last week for fear of his life, has been unable to handle the crisis.
