The OAU student community, on the night of Friday 5th August 2022, was thrown into a frenzy of excitement following the release of a mysterious link on the WhatsApp platform.
Investigations were conducted, and it was found that the lecturer known as Dr. T. Olatoberu is a working member of the academic staff from the Department of Soil Science and Land Resources Management.
Further research by OAU Kilonshele established the veracity of this assertion when the YouTube account handle and associated image were tracked to the university staff site and a connection between the details provided and the image was found.
As the ongoing ASUU strike enters its 6th month on a ‘No work’ ‘No pay’ condition set by the Federal Government, it is sad yet hilarious to see something of such emanate from an active lecturer victimized by the ‘unbothered’ attitude of the FG.
We hereby call on the Federal Government to resolve this issue as soon as possible so striking academic staff can get back to work and prioritize the education of their students.
It is not every time we see a lecturer turn into a musician amid a crisis. Before things fall apart further and different scenarios start originating, we tender a plea to the FG to do the right thing
