The former Secretary to Edo State Government and Frontline aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has visited leaders of Edo Central Senatorial district to formally inform them about his intention to run for the office of Edo state governor.

Ize-Iyamu who said that he was among those that formed the then ACN now APC both at state and National level added that God used him to bring prominent people into the party who are now leaders today.
“Some people say I just came into the party, this statement is totally wrong. I am not a newcomer in this party, we built this party from the scratch”.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu appreciated the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole and the state leaders of the party for standing by him during his official declaration last year though the state governor did all he could to scuttle the event but failed.
He extolled the personalities of his co-aspirants, Dr. Pius Odubu, Engr. Ogiemwonyi and Gen. Charles Airhiavbere, thanked them for their togetherness
Meanwhile Pastor Ize-Iyamu has said that he is read to work with any aspirant who may finally emerge as the candidate of the party at the primaries.
He said this is because his main reason for being in politics is to passionately serve the people and fight against injustice.

Going down memory lane he narrated how he joined politics in 1979 and his support for Former Governor of Bendel state, Prof. Ambrose Alli who hails from the zone, explaining that he has maintain his undiluted close ties with Esan people over the years as they have always shown him much love.
He appealed to the Edo Central APC leaders to queue behind him as one who clearly understands the intricacies of Edo politics and inner workings of government as displayed during his time in office as Chief of Staff and SSG.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu also spoke glowingly about his manifesto christened the “SIMPLE AGENDA” which he said addresses the critical issues and challenges currently facing Edo state and proffers practical solutions.
Present at the event were the Edo state chairman of party, Colonel Imuse (Rtd), a National leader of the party, General Sesie, Chief Francis Inegbeneki and the state woman leader, Madam Betty Okoebor coupled with other prominent leaders,
Speaking on behalf of Edo Central leaders, Chief Francis Inegbeneki, thanked Pastor Ize-Iyamu for the visit, eulogizing him for his competence and versatility and prayed for God to help him actualize his intentions.
