The immediate brother to the member of the House of Representatives (Hon Temitope Olatoye Sugar) who was shot dead on March 9, 2019, Hon. Olajide Olushina Olatoye narrated his ordeal to the BBC on a short video clip.
BBC: “It is a strange thing to see ones brother being shot and you are helpless because I was at the scene of the incident and my brother was shot in the eyes and I had no power to rescue him.”
“They could be hired killers but those who killed my brother I know them very well, people said I should not talk about it, why won’t I talk? I will continue to say it until my last breath. I saw them clearly but for security reasons, I won’t mention their names now.”
“I saw all of them live, it was God that saved me. Anytime we went for campaigns, we are always in the same car, but on that day, I don’t know how God did it, we were in a separate car. He was at the front while my car was at the back but he was the target, I managed to escape.”
We voted in Lagelu and we were heading for home and they laid an ambush for him…”
