The election was conducted in a very peaceful manner, witnessed by the party leaders, INEC, DSS And other Security agents.

Recall that, the former State Chairman and Senatorial candidate for Lagos West, Otunba Segun Adewale known as Aeroland, was at the forefront of demanding for a proper congress election, to fill all the vacant positions, contrary to the tradition of writing and imposing executives by the Bode George faction of the party.

There was a court order by a faction, loyal to the former Deputy National Chairman, Chief Bode George, although the suit could not deter the Ben Obi led electoral committee from holding the election, because it was considered null and void.
