A Fashion designer, Taiwo Ayomide, who was allegedly battered with the butt of the gun by a police officer over N50 bribe has been reportedly died, SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS gathered.

It was learnt that the 20 year-old Ayomide died early this Sunday morning (August 9, 2020) at the Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, where he was receiving treatment.
Recalled that SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS reported on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 that Ayomide has been battling for his life following a brutal gun attack on him by bribe-seeking police officer.

One of the deceased relatives, who simply identified himself as Segun while breaking the news of his death on telephone call to Newsmen that Olamide gave up the ghost this morning as he had remained unconscious since the attack six days ago.
It would be recalled that Ayomide and one of his brothers identified as Oladimeji Wasiu were riding on a motorcycle from their home town of Iragbiji after Eid-el-Kabir celebration when the incident happened on Wednesday.

The incident was said to have occurred at Ilahun village along Ibokun road at exactly 3:30 pm.
While narrating his experience, Wasiu who was riding on the bike with the victim said they met police officers at a check point along Odo Osun (Osun River), Ilahun village, Ibokun road Obokun Local Government Area and one of the officers who had earlier ordered them to stop allegedly hit Ayomide with the butt of the gun.
The traumatized Wasiu further alleged that the said police officer was heavily drunk at the check point and when he discovered that Ayomide had more than N50 on him, he lost his temper and started hitting him with butt of the gun and the victim fell down for the bike and became unconscious.

We’ve dismissed the officer:
Osun State Police Command has said that it has dismissed the officer Ago Egharepbe who brutalised a civilian in Ibokun, Osun State.
Ayomide died of the injury he sustained when Egharepbe attacked him on Monday.
While confirming the death of Ayomide, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, said the Commissioner of Police Osun Command, Undie Adie has after receiving the report of the trial committee, recommended the dismissal of the officer to the Inspector General of Police and he has been dismissed.

Opalola added that he will be charged to court on Monday for murder.
“The Osun State Police Command wishes to state that the officer, Inspector Ago Egharepbe, who brutalised a civilian in Ibokun has been tried and dismissed from the force.
“The Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie has recommended his dismissal to the Inspector General of Police and he has been dismissed. He will be charged to court on Monday for murder.

“CP Adie and the entire Osun Police Command commiserate with the family and friends of Ayomide Taiwo on the death of the loved on, as we promised to ensure Justice is served.” Opalola said.
