A Pathologist identified as Olusegun Sylvester Ojo on Wednesday testified to the cause of the post graduate student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Timothy Oludare Adegoke at the Hilton Hotels and Resorts, Ile-Ife, Osun State at the resumed hearing of a case involving Dr. Rahman Adedoyin and six others on the alleged murder of Timothy.
Circumstances that surrounded the death was highly suspicious and that was why the corpse was deposited for expert opinion (autopsy) to ascertain the cause of the death.” which a medical practitioner from Ile Ife explained to the court on the 25 of May.
The court hearing started at 9:45am on Wednesday at Court 1 of the Osun State High Court, Osogbo, Osun State.
All seven defendants were present.
The leading prosecuting counsel, Femi Falana (SAN) was equally present.
Olusegun, a Medical Practioner who was an eye witness stated that Gbade Adegoke who is identified as the brother of the deceased identified the body with his toe nails because the body was not identified by the facial features because there was an advanced decomposition.
In addition to the fact that there had been lost of tissues in the scalp extending above the orbit to the neck.

“There was loss of the flesh on the left side of the face which was so deep that both the upper and lower jaws and the teeth were exposed.
In addition, the left upper lip and front of the nose has been deluded in an irregular fraction.
“There was no fracture whatsoever in this bones. The external genitals were intact. There was no penetrating wound on the abdomen or the chest.
No evidence of bleeding.
Internally, all the organs were intact and in their anatomical locations. On individual examination of this organs, they showed features of advanced decomposition having been reduced in size and weight to less than one third of their usual sizes and weight,Olusegun said.
On microscopic examination, the tissues had lost their usual identifying features and articheture. Thus, they had undergone advanced decomposition and no meaningful deductions could be made as to their functional state at death.
No internal or external Bleeding as at the cross examination of the autopsy.

It would be recalled that Adegoke, an Obafemi Awolowo University Postgraduate Student, was murdered in his hotel room in Ile-Ife Osun State.
Adegoke had lodged at Hilton Hotels and Resorts in Ile-Ife, Osun State upon his arrival from Abuja on November 5, 2021, to enable him arrive early for his examination at the OAU Distance Learning Centre, Moro, in the state, on November 6th and 7th 2021.
He later went missing and was found dead and buried in a shallow grave following an investigation by the Police, with the hotel owner, Dr Rahman Adedoyin and its workers arrested as suspects
The case which has been in court since then was adjourned on April 26 to May 25,26 and 27 due to the sudden slump of the second Defendant in the court.
