The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal is leading in rerun election held on Saturday by defeating his major challenger, Ahmad Aliyu of the APC with a narrow margin.
Gov Tambuwal had 512,002 while opponent had 511,611, a narrow margin of 341 votes.

Mr Aliyu was Mr Tambuwal’s deputy governor.
Both men were of the APC until Mr Tambuwal defected to the PDP.
The results of all the local governments where supplementary elections were held in Sokoto have now been announced at the state collation centre.

Any moment from now Tambuwal would be declared the governor elect officially under the platform of PDP by INEC.
