The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, October 11, 2020, declared the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu winner of the governorship elections held on Saturday, October 10, 2020.
Akeredolu won in 15 Local Government Areas out of the 18 LGAs while the closes contender, Mr Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won in three LGAs. The third contestant, Mr Agboola Ajayi of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) did not win in LGA.

Rotimi Akeredolu – 292,830
Eyitayo Jegede – 195,791
Agboola Ajayi – 69,127
Votes difference between Akeredolu and Eyitayo Jegede is 97,039
Details of results of elections in the 18 LGAs in Ondo State as follows:
6,069 votes were cancelled as a result of violence. Mr Charles Adejuyiie confirmed that there was violence with guns and cutlass freely used. One of the PDP agents was severely injured to the extent that he was rejected at the hospital. Records were not properly documented. PDP members could not sign the Result Sheets because they were driven away.
