BREAKING: PANDEMONIUM as FIRE outbreak, explosions rock Matrix Oil and Gas Depot in Warri

THERE was pandemonium on Friday night as there was fire outbreak and explosions at the Matrix Energy Limited Depot, Warri in Delta State.

SOJ WORLDWIDE gathered that the fire broke out with a shattering explosion that rocked Ifiekporo, Ubeji and other nearby communities of the state.

Although the cause the incident is yet to be ascertained, sources hinted the inferno may have resulted from loading activities at the tank farm.

However, fire service men are said to be currently battling to put out the blazing fire.

Reacting to the incident, the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, urged residents to remain calm.

Tidi, while confirming that fire service men have been mobilised to the scene, assured that the flames are being contained.

Meanwhile, the fire has not been put off as at the time of filling this report.
