THE Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) seemed to have shot itself in the leg with the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari that Nigerians should deposit their old N500 and N1000 notes at the apex bank offices.
This directive has overwhelmed the 37 offices nationwide including Abuja with hundreds of Depositors with old Naira notes that is now beyond their capability to control.

People are asking about how logical is it for the apex bank transforming itself to a Deposit Money Banks overnight with only one branch in each state where there are hundreds of bank branches with sole responsibility to attend to bank customers?
