I am not a fan of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, I have never been his fan, but Obasanjo is not in the same league with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Obasanjo is a detribalized Nigerian, a nationalist, and he is not a coward. Few things he has done that has impressed me was his appointments.
•
He had people from all over working for him. In fact he created more ministries to accommodate everyone across the country.
•
When Boko Haram was at its peak and the likes of President Buhari were quiet and even talking on behalf of Boko Haram and making the government difficult for Jonathan, Obasanjo was the man who traveled down to Maiduguri to see how he could talk and make peace with Boko Haram.

Where was Buhari then? When Boko Haram asked Buhari to be intermediary between them and the government, Buhari took off.

Obasanjo was the one who advised Goodluck Jonathan to take Namadi Sambo as vice president so that a person of Southern Kaduna would be governor of Kaduna State for the first time. That was how Governor Yakowa became governor. The railways Buhari is busy commissioning today are all Obasano’s projects.
When I was in the University in 1998 some planes crashed in Kano. Before six years many planes have crashed in Nigeria. How many planes crash now? It was Obasanjo’s government that brought sanity into the Aviation industry.
Today President Buhari is praising General Abacha because Abacha gave him a job at Petroleum Trust Fund and comparing him with Obasanjo because Obasanjo suddenly told him to step down for younger generation because he has failed.
If Obasanjo had continued praising Buhari, this same Buhari would have been the one praising Obasanjo as the best president Nigeria ever had.
With all his shortcomings Obasanjo was the president of Nigeria in his time, not the president of Oduduwa Republic. Today Buhari is the President of Arewa Republic where he keeps quiet as hundreds are massacred in the Middle Belt region of Nigeria because the killers are his tribesmen.
Today we have a president who has friends and family ruling Nigeria, a president who appoints all his security chiefs as Northerners and Muslims out of some primordial fear that doesn’t exist.
If President Buhari thinks Obasanjo has squandered or stolen $16billion power money, he should open up an investigation and bring Obasanjo to book or shut the hell up.
