The Osun State High Court sitting in Ila-Orangun presided over by Justice Hide Falola has sentenced two men to death by hanging for armed robbery.

In a Press Release by the Information Officer of the Ministry of Justice, Mr Opeyemi Bello made available to SOJ WORLDWIDE said the court session was moved to the ilesha correctional Centre to maintain social distance order due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The convicts are Ayodeji Adeleke and Abiodun Oyedunmola were arraigned on two counts charge; Armed Robbery and Conspiracy contrary to section 1(1) and 2 (a) and 6(b) and punishable under section 1(1)(a) of the Robbery and Firearms (special provision) Act.

Convicts were arraigned in the Court on 24th May, 2019.
On 14th day of April 2016, Convicts attacked one Owonifari Muiydeen of Oke-Ila in his residence and he was able to captured him, suddenly escaped from him but was able to collect his hand glove and life cartridge which were talking to the police.
Also on 3rd of April 2016, Mr. Bayepade Olubunmi was Robbed by the Convicts and he was able to escape from their ambush.

Pastor Afolabi Clement was another victim he robbed on the 28th of March 2016 and the 9th of December, 2015 by the same people and his properties were carted away by the gang, the incident was reported at the Police Station (B) Division Ila – Orangun.
To prove its case the Prosecution Counsel from the Ministry of Justice Barrister Muyiwa Ogunleye had called five witnesses and tendered (11) eleven exhibits, including confessional statement of convicts, one cartridge ammunition, one gun and two handset were tendered.
Justice Falola said the prosecution counsel has proved his case beyond reasonable doubts and found them guilty on charge preferred against them.
Counsel to the convicts Barrister Sulaimon Bello pleaded with the Court to temper justice with mercy on them.
