CP Olokode honours notable citizens for their supports in promoting peace in Osun

The Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 recognized the immense support of some notable individuals in the state for their immense contributions to fight against crime and criminality using their time and resources.

Olokode commended the efforts of all the recipients of the awards for the their roles to foster peace and in building good relationship between the Police and the civil populace making Osun the most peaceful and safest State in Nigeria.

In his welcome address, Olokode appreciated all the awardees,

“What we are witnessing today is an attestation or testimony of your enviable contributions in ensuring peace and progress in the state.”

“Today’s event is therefore to appreciate God, Officers and men, as well as people of your Calibre whom God had been using to support the Police both financially and morally in enhancing our efficiency and effectiveness in the fight against crime in the state. This is to show that your contributions are not unnoticed.”

“My heart is filled with innermost joy for your concerted and collective efforts in the fight against crime and other criminal activities in the state and the country as a whole. This is what informed my desire to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of all and sundry in the fight against crime and criminalities, to ensure the relative peace we enjoy in our dear state.”

Olokode concluded his speech by thanking the Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola and his cabinet for their continuous support.

Over 40 recipients of the CP’s  Award includes, the Ooni of Ife, HRH Oba Ogunwusi Adeyeye, Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, Vice-Chancellor of The Redeemer’s University, Professor Anthony Akinlo, NURTW Chairman, Osun State Chapter, Osun State Chairman of ALGON, Hon. Abiodun Idowu among others.

Some Police Officers including the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Yemisi Opalola Olawoyin and others were recognized for honours by the Commissioner.
