The Youth Council of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has Appointed Security Affairs’ CEO Austin Peacemaker as Youth Ambassador for Peace.

The ECOWAS Youth Council President, Amb. Emmanuel William said the appointment is in recognition of Austin Peacemaker’s outstanding commitment towards advancing peace and security in Nigeria through civil military relations activities, youth and community engagements, and campaign against hate speech, fake news and malicious posts and reportage on the social media /new media.
The ECOWAS Youth Council chairman, while presenting the award commended Ambassador Austin Peacemaker particularly for the success of the social media influencer seminars dedicated to converging critical players to ensure cordial relationship between civilians and the Nigerian Army.
The event which took place in Summerset Continental in Maitama Abuja engaged key stakeholders including delegates from the ECOWAS Youth Council, Legal Practitioners, CSOs, Medical personnel among others.
Highlights of the event was the presentation of the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Peace Building, diplomatic plate number and ECOWAS identification card.

Friends and well wishers present at the event showered encomium on the life and leadership role of Amb. Peacemaker, saying it is an award well deserved.
Ambassador Austin Peacemaker is a multiple award winning security affairs analyst and civil-military Affairs consultant who has visited the North East of Nigeria on several occasion to conduct on the spot assessment, civil military relations and interaction with frontline soldiers, promoting global peace and security, and bridging the gap between the Nigerian Military and the civilian populace.

He is also the founder of Television Security (TVS News) which is the first ever 100% security content television in Africa. His organisation has been in partnership with the Nigerian Army Department of Civil Military Affairs since 2018.
He is a masters student in Conflict, Security and Development at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) department of History and War Studies. He also holds academic and training certificates from School for the Gifted Gwagwalada Abuja, University of Abuja, African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Rwanda Cooperation Initiative (RCI), and Chartered Institute of Disasters and Safety Managers (CIDSM) State of Delware, USA.
