Fellow citizens of the State of Osun and especially the good people of Ife federal constituency , I felicitate with you all, especially our citizens of the Islamic faith, on this blessed occasion of the 2018 Ed-El-Fitri celebrations.
I applaud all of you who in the last period of about one month have humbly and obediently, with all sense of reverence to God, completed the Ramadan fasting in keeping with the injunction of our faith.
I am optimistic that the lessons of Ramadan fasting , which dwells on self denial, sacrifice, and being your brother’s keeper, will continue in the months ahead as we face the issues that confront us in our daily lives.
If there is a time that we need to foster unity , that time is now, this is a period to forgive and forget our ugly past, embrace progression and shunned retrogressions in our political lives. That time is now because these attributes are the bedrock of our needed transformation, unity and progress ; that time is now because these attributes dispel selfishness and nepotism; that time is now because these attributes ensure bouncy economy, community policing and a sense of togetherness that rebuffs infiltration by unscrupulous elements into our state.
Once we demonstrate self-denial, sacrifice, and being our brother’s keepers, the peace that we desire to ensure an environment conducive for sustainable growth and development shall prevail in our society .
It is also obvious that the national financial crisis, coupled with the limited resources available to us as a state have slowed our effort for growth and development outlined in the RESCUE AGENDA. However, once we have unity of purpose we can overcome these challenges speedily.

It is for these reasons that I will continually urge you to continue to give Peace a chance for without peace, there cannot be speedy growth or sustenance in our development.
Finally, as you celebrate today, I urge you to reflect deeply on the tenets of Ramadan fasting and be vigilant.
May Almighty God continue to guide us as a constituency and bless the state of Osun.
