The Governor of Edo State under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Godwin Obaseki is leading from the 15 local governments declared so far with a wide margin over his closest rival from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Obaseki is already leading in 11 of the 15 local governments declared by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).
Five local governments’ results are still yet to be released.
A quick summation of the votes awarded to Obaseki in 13 local governments stood at 274,373 while Ize-Iyamu’s was 194,166
