The Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have released suspected internet fraudstars otherwise known as YAHOO BOYS forcefully arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
Arrested with 33 internet fraudstars was a former soldier, Adebisi Jamiu..
“The suspects were picked up in different locations in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The 22-year-old former soldier, Jamiu and the other suspects were arrested on the strength of verified intelligence on their alleged involvement in cybercrime.”
The suspects have volunteered statements to the Commission and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
It will be recalled that the EFCC Operatives came in ‘commando like’ raids, breaking the gates, walls and doors to effect the arrests of some of the suspects that sparked off protests along Ring Road axis of Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Tuesday.
The actions of the EFCC operatives were widely condemned.
Although the suspects were successfully arrested, SOJ WORLDWIDE (http://www.sojworldnews.com) had it on good authority that the protesters blocked the roads that could allow them go away with exotic cars seized from the suspects.
No one could comprehend why EFCC chose to break gates, doors and walls to effect any arrests of the suspected Yahoo Boys in the dark hours of the night.
