As its usual practice the Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to the President, Garba Shehu took it with a pinch of salt.
Garba said among other comments,
“..country with factions giving specific timelines for the President to do one thing or another or else, in their language, “the nation will break up.”
“…such unpatriotic outbursts are both unhelpful and unwarranted as this government will not succumb to threats..”.

In an interview with The PUNCH, Adeboye said Nigeria should adopt its own system of government with the President and Prime Minister with different functions while the state will have the governor and premier with different functions as well.
He called for recognition to all our traditional rulers and religious leaders in a new dispensation to be known as United States of Nigeria.

He also lent his voice to those agitating for restructuring as a condition without which Nigeria would breakup.
“Without any doubt we must restructure and do it as soon as possible. A United States of Nigeria is likely to survive much more than our present structure.”
