Family Buries Murdered BRT Passenger, Bamise Ayanwola Amidst Tears In Lagos (WATCH VIDEO)

The body of the 22-year-old Bamise Ayanwola, who was allegedly murdered by the driver of a bus belonging to the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) scheme, Lagos State was laid to rest amid tears on Friday, December 16,2022.

Bamise was killed in February this year. She was buried at Atan Cemetery in the Yaba area of the state.

A police officer, Sunday Ihende, recently testified in court that Andrew Ominikoron, a BRT bus driver, raped and caused the death of Bamise Ayanwola.

Bamise boarded a BRT bus at the Chevron Bus Stop in the Ajah area of Lagos on her way to Oshodi around 7pm on February 26,2022 

During the journey, Bamise’s family members said the Fashion Designer observed that the bus driver, Andrew Ominikoron, was not picking up other passengers at subsequent bus stops along the route.

Disturbed, she messaged her friend and sent voice notes detailing her predicament. It was the last time her friend and family members heard from her as she was later declared missing.

She was later found dead on Carter Bridge and the driver was subsequently arrested and charged with conspiracy, rape and murder of the deceased.

Speaking with SOJ WORLDWIDE, shortly after her death, the family accused the Lagos State government of shielding the suspected killer and demanded justice, apologies and compensation.
