Famurewa told his audience that he decided to contest for the higher Chamber of the Senate based on his performances at the House of Representatives and people’s call for his service to cover a wider scope in other constituencies.

Fadahunsi said he has worked for mandatory 35 years in the Civil Service of the Nigerian Customs and would want to extend his services to the common man to enjoy from his wealth of experience hence his resolve to contest for the same position in 2015 and now in 2019.

Famurewa drew the battle line when he said the PDP candidate lost woefully in 2015. Fadahunsi responded immediately that Famurewa came to prostrate begging him that he knew the election was rigged which his opponent denied vehemently.

Famurewa countered his rival saying he advised him to come to APC so that he can “repackage him because PDP members are a bundle of liars.”

Among others, Famurewa said.

“In the area of development, I told my people I am going to represent you well. I constructed two great Schools, renovated 10, installed 56 Transformers, 54 boreholes, I sponsored more than 10 bills and moved many motions which include the motion for the Federal Medical Centre, Wesley, Ilesha.”

Fadahunsi said he “believes in rural development, restructuring is the basis of what I stand for.”

When asked if the PDP candidate would not feel the impact of Senator Iyiola Omisore now that he has left the party considering the weight he carried in the Senatorial District of Osun South.

Fadahunsi responded that Omisore leaving PDP would not have any negative impact whatsoever because he did not add any value to his election in 2015.

Hon Famurewa responded swiftly that Fadahunsi is a liar, “you are a novice in the terrain, Omisore gave you victory four years ago. You are not a man of God. You are an ingrate. You attacked our party members with guns four years ago.”

Fadahunsi concluded that  “They lie, no respect for people in APC.”

Editor’s Note:  After all the verbal attacks and the counterattacks between the two gladiators, they took group photographs and Famurewa went directly to Fadahunsi to pay homage as an elder brother in the presence of everyone present and his supporters.

LEARNING POINT:  Famurewa and Fadahunsi have shown to the world that politics should not be a do-or-die affair as some would want us to believe. Supporters of the different political parties, APC and PDP should not see themselves as enemies.
