FG declares public for Xmas and New Year

The Minister of Interior, Lt. General (Rtd) Abdulralman Bello Dambazau has announced on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th December, 2017 as public holiday for the Xmas and Boxing Day celebrations.

The Federal Government also declared Monday, January 1, 2018 as Public Holiday to mark the beginning of the New Year.
The Minister made the announcement on Wednesday in Abuja.
He enjoined the Christian faithful and all Nigerians to use the period in praying earnestly for the betterment and development of Nigeria.

The statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Engr Abubakar Magaji, also called on Nigerians to strengthen their resolve to maintain peace and unity in Nigeria.
Dambazau further urged all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in its determination in improving the quality of life of Nigerians.
The Minister wished Nigerians a Happy Christmas and New Year celebrations.
