Former Military Governor of Oyo State and one-time ECOMOG Field Commander, Brig-Gen. Tunji Olurin (rtd.) is dead at age 77.

The deceased’s brother, Funso Olurin, confirmed the development in Abeokuta on Saturday.
He confirmed that Olurin died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in the early hours of Saturday.
He said the former Military Administrator of Ekiti State died after a brief illness.

Olurin hailed from Ilaro in Ogun West Senatorial District of Ogun State.
He was the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in the 2011 general election in Ogun State.
Olurin, a Field Commander of ECOMOG Peacekeeping Force in Liberia from 1992 to 1993 during the First Liberian Civil War, retired from service in 1993.
