The Nigeria Police Force has taken drastic proactive actions against the erring policemen over their ‘dehumanizing treatment’ of a University of Ibadan graduate, Towobola on a video that went viral on social media.

Police action preempted many human right lawyers who have signified their intention to give legal service to Towobola against the police.
The resolve of the current Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu to rid the police of bad eggs is yielding positive results.
The case of Towobola swung the police into action with immediate discreet investigation and subsequent arrests of the three erring police officers and a civilian who were involved in a viral video widely condemned by Nigerians.

Arrested are, CPL Aiyedun Akeem and one Ope Owoeye – the civilian accomplice popularly known as ‘Wyclef’, ASP Tijani Olatunji and Inspr Gboyega who were earlier arrested for their involvement in the case.”
In a release by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DCP Frank Mba, “Investigation is still ongoing after which the Force internal disciplinary procedures will commence for the officers.”

“Meanwhile, Police Detectives from the State CID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos have established contact with the victim with assurances that justice will not only be done but will be seen to have been manifestly done.”

“The two additional persons arrested are CPL Aiyedun Akeem and one Ope Owoeye – the civilian accomplice popularly known as ‘Wyclef’. Recall that ASP Tijani Olatunji and Inspr Gboyega were earlier arrested for their involvement in the case.”
“The Nigeria Police have arrested the remaining two persons involved in the dehumanizing treatment of a female citizen in a viral video making the rounds since Wednesday, 22nd July, 2020, bringing the total number of persons now in police custody to four.”

According to the information released by the police monitored by SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS, Those arrested are currently being detained at the Lagos State CID detention facility, Panti, Yaba.
“Preliminary investigations show that the policemen who are attached to Area ‘A’ Command, Lion Building, Lagos, were on legitimate investigation activities to Ibadan, Oyo State.”
Meanwhile, the Police Command released Towobola immediately the viral video was published.
