Gov. Oyetola Urges Traditional Rulers to Use Traditions to Promote Tourism In Osun

The governor of the State of Osun, Gboyega Oyetola has urged Traditional Rulers to upgrade Yoruba tradition in their domain to encourage tourism to boost revenue in the state.

Oyetola was represented by the former Commissioner for Youths, Sport and Special Needs, Comrade Biyi Odunlade at the Traditional Worshiper Prayer Service in Osogbo, tagged: Iwure Odun Government Secretariat, Abere in the State of Osun.

He noted that the upgrade will attract tourists as alternative means of revenue generation.

The governor maintained that, though Osun is a leading state in the uplift of the traditional religion in Nigeria, its best are not enough when compared to countries like Brazil, Cuba and America.

Oyetola appreciated all the members of TRWASO for the prayer (IWURE) and appealed for necessary support to achieve success.

The Agesin Adimula of Ila Orangun, Chief Fagbenle Adedayo who spoke on behalf of TRWASO assured both the people and the government of the state that the year 2019 will be a year of happiness, fulfilment and economic prosperity.

According to him, the Ifa Divination has pronounced Economic Prosperity and Peaceful Co-existence and Peace for Osun this year adding that none of Its pronouncement will pass without coming to reality.

Reading from Ifa Divination called “OSEMONSA”, Chief Fagbenle disclosed that, Ifa has revealed that, in this new year 2019, Osun government will surmount all challenges and constraints and break a new ground in projects achievement and workers welfare which will lead to the happiness of the entire people of the State.

While further assuring the government not to entertain any fear about the present financial downturn, Chief Fagbenle however warned the government not to jettison the role of traditional rulers in governance and also consider women as important stakeholders that must be carried along at all time.

Earlier in his remarks, the Supervisor for the Ministry of Tourism, Home Affairs and Culture, Dr. Obawale Adebisi charged the Traditional Worshipers in the State to exhibit a good working relationship and support the present administration led by Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
