The Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum presented a brand new car and N13.9m to Dr. Isa Akinbode..
Dr. Akinbode is an indigene of Ogun state who graduated from the University of Maiduguri and worked with the General Hospital Mongono as a Medical Doctor, he retired after 22 years of service due to some health challenges.
Gov. Zulum in his speech acknowledged his selfless service to humanity, he said most of Mongono indigenes ran away from the Town but Dr Akinbode remained in there to render service to the people of Mongono, he was once captured by Boko Haram and later released. Gov. Zulum said there is a need for him to be appreciated for rendering services to the state and the country at large.

Dr. Isa Akinbode’s daughter was also given an automatic appointment by the Governor, all his salary from retirement upto date will be paid in arrears.
The governor also directed the Permanent Secretary to calculate and report back for approval, he also urged Dr. Akinbode’s children to take very good care of their father because he is a very kind person.
Gov. Zulum also decorated the newly promoted police officers attached to Government house Maiduguri to their next rank.
