The Chairman of Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, Joseph Omuya Salami said gunmen invaded a branch of the Living Faith Church Worldwide popularly known as Winners Chapel, established by Bishop David Oyedepo.

Joseph Salami, chairman of Adavi LGA, confirmed the incident via a statement released by Jamiu Habeeb, his media aide on Monday.
The gunmen, suspected to be bandits, invaded the church’s branch at Osara community, on the Lokoja-Okene Road in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The kidnappers reportedly invaded the church premises when members were holding a meeting over the weekend, and abducted no less than three persons.

Salami informed that the gunmen shot endlessly into the air to scare the community, in the course of which they abducted their victims.
The Council Chairman said that he had visited the scene of the incident, alongside the Divisional Police Officer of Osara Division.
He said that the council was working with security agents to ensure the victims’ release.
