The former House of Representatives member and the founder O’ODUA FM, ILE-IFE, Hon. Rotimi Makinde decried the state of decadence of Local Government in Nigeria.
In his opinion; “Every responsible politician must develop more interest in local government Affairs.”
His visit to Ife East Local Government gives him the opportunity to see first hand experience of the plight of the Third tier of government in his domain.
In a bid to institutionalize good governance, he said; “it is expedient to develop interest in overhauling of local government affairs as the incumbent Executives led by Honourable Segun Adeyeni are tirelessly working for the betterment of the Council but resources is limited,”
He went further that; “It is high time to stop focusing on State and Federal government Affairs while neglecting the closest people around us.”
He concluded; “any aspirant who is nurturing a political position and desiring to serve the good people of Osun State must have the desire to develop more interest in local government administration.”
