The governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola said at a coloquim and launch of magazine by Progressive e-group at Atlantis Event Centre Osogbo that he had the vision to do something at Gbongan junction years before he became the governor of the state.
He said he was with a friend he did not mention his name who told him he lost family friends at Gbongan junction who were coming to his wedding at Osogbo. Although he did not tell him what he had in mind until he became the governor of the state. It became a priority for him when he was elected as a state governor.

He added that it was a call by God to save lives and that was what he did for a reward from God to save lives. He said many lives of not less than a thousand have been lost at the junction.
BISI AKANDE TRUMPET BRIDGE, GBONGAN.
The governor flanked by House of Representatives member, Hon. Gafar Akintayo Amere and other cabinet members of the state paid a visit to assess the extent of the work done so far on the Bisi Akande Trumpet Bridge on Thursday evening. The governor said although he is yet to commission the bridge people have started using it to the glory of God.
He took a swipe at his critics whom he said are shameless.
