THE Next Level Progressive Movement nationwide at their emergency meeting held in Abuja by all the State Coordinators urged Nigerians not join the proposed nationwide protests scheduled to commence from August 1-10, 2024.
According to a Press Statement released by the movement on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 signed by the Director-General of the movement, Chief Owoeye Samuel Abiodun who doubles as the Osun State Coordinator said it is counterproductive for Nigerians to resort to protests at the time when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making frantic efforts to bring back the economy into shape.
In the statement made available to SOJ WORLDWIDE, the movement urged the organizers of the protests to remain calm that the President has made bold and courageous decisions to fix the economy previous administrations have mismanaged.

Although, the movement agreed that protest is enshrined in the Nigerian constitution and that Nigerians are free to protest but the information at their disposal revealed that some disgruntled elements are behind the protests in order to create anarchy to unseat the democratically administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It noted that if previous administrations had taken bold decisions like what Tinubu administration is doing, Nigerian economy would not have been in comatose as it is today.
“It is the right of every Nigerian to embark on peaceful protests as enshrined in the Constitution but it would be counterproductive when the protests become violent against the gains we have gained under the Tinubu administration.”
“We cannot open our eyes and watch those who are still nursing the defeat they suffered in the 2023 presidential elections to bring the country to zero level because of their inordinate ambition.”

“We urge all Nigerians to remain patient, the glorious dawn is almost here already.” the statement concluded.
The DG Directed all the State Coordinators to be vigilant and report any breakdown of law and order to the appropriate authority in their respective jurisdictions.
