The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the State of Osun, on Wednesday presented Certificate of Returns to 26 elected members the State of Osun House of Assembly.

At the opening speech, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr.Olusegun Agbaje praised the leadership of National Union of Roads Transport Workers (NURTW) for making the job of INEC easy and successful.

Mr. Agbaje narrated pockets of incidents that occurred at Oriade Local Government where some hoodlums attacked INEC office and members of staff wounded.

He appealed to the residents of Osun not to allow this type of incident repeats itself in future elections.

Apart from the ugly incident experienced in Oriade where the election was declared inconclusive, the election was free, fair and credible.

He said the election commenced as scheduled with a superlative performance of INEC staffs in discharging their duties.

“INEC scored 100% in the polling centres and units as they had uniform punctuality resumption time of 7.00am across the state. This feat was repeated in Osun, Ekiti and Ondo States in the last elections.”

Mr. Agbaje enjoined all residents and indigenes to imbibe the ethos of Omoluabis they are noted for in subsequent elections.
