A 43-year-old man was on Tuesday recovered dead from a domestic well in Ilorin by the Kwara State Fire Service.

 

 

 

The deceased, Abdulqadir Muritala of Oniguguru Compound Oko-Erin area of Ilorin, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, fell into the well and was recovered dead behind Global Primary and Secondary School, Bayi Community, Egbejila area of Ilorin.

 

 

 

The spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunle, disclosed that the brigade was alerted through a telephone call by one David, a resident of the neighbourhood at about 10:30 am.

He said firefighters were able to recover the dead body from the well and later handed the remains over to one Mr Mohammed Abdulwasiu, a family member of the deceased.

 

 

 

Reports claimed the victim went to re-dredge the well but slipped and tumbled into the well.

The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, expressed sadness over the incident and urged the general public to be more careful in their day-to-day activities and desist from sending underage children to fetch water in wells.
