Neighbors claim that the deceased, whose name has not been released as of the time of publication, was last seen four years ago while traveling to Ibadan from Portharcourt in Rivers State, where he was residing at the time.
His specific cause of death is still unknown, but residents of the neighborhood informed SOJ WORLDWIDE Correspondent that no one in the area was aware of it until this week, when they made the decision to go into his compound to trim the overgrown grass that had turned it into a sanctuary for snakes and rats.
When the gate to the house was locked from the back, it was reported that the Abokis hired to trim the grass in the deceased compound were instructed to jump in. However, when they did, they discovered that the house owner’s car is in the premises and had been covered with grass.
Eyewitnesses said that after successfully cutting down the bush, they looked inside the building through window and spotted the decaying corpse’s bones on his bed, holding a phone.
A thorough investigation into the event is now being conducted by officers of the Oyo State Police Command.
