A Gambian, Medical Doctor based in the United Kingdom, Dr. Joseph Johnson got wedded to his heartthrob, Okpo Experience on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the Leisure Spring Hotel, Osogbo, Osun State.
Johnson shared his experience on how he met a Nigerian lady from Edo State on TikTok.
“I saw my wife, Experience in February 2023 on TikTok. I saw her and I was interested in her, I sent her a friend request and she accepted and we got talking.”
When SOJ WORLDWIDE asked what was his challenges, he said, he was initially afraid because of pretenders on social media.

“I initially felt she was faking me telling me what she is not until I came face to face with her when I came to meet her in Abuja, Nigeria. She was the dream woman I was looking for.”
“What they told me about Nigeria was not what I met. My people told me that Nigerians are fraudulent, they are scammers, I was initially afraid coming to Nigeria. But I met loving people who are peaceful and friendly contrary to what I was told.”
When asked if he was harassed at the Airport, he said they were very friendly and courteous.
According to the bride now Mrs Experience Ekpo-Johnson, she was highly elated and happy saying that her husband was the person whom she would wish to spend the rest of her life with.

When asked how she felt marrying someone who is not a Nigerian and how her family reacted when they got to know about it.
“Initially, they rejected him but I prayed about it and he was the one Lord showed to me in my dream as my life partner. I made them see reasons, they later accepted him and the result of their acceptance is what we witnessed here today. My husband is neither poor nor rich but he is comfortable.”
Experience who graduated from the University of Benin (UNIBEN) said that it took her diplomatic dialogue with her family before she could be allowed to progress on their marriage.
She said her husband adapted to our culture quickly, I prepared most Edo soups for him and there was no complain, ever since we’ve been together, everything about me have changed for the best.
