A National Youth Service Corps member, Miss Akande Abosede Esther, with Call-up No.: NYSC/IFE/2023/201810 (Batch B stream 2), has been kidnapped in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

 

 

 

Akande, a graduate of Education/English from the Obafemi Awolowo University, was said to have been kidnapped on Wednesday while on her way to the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Magaji Dan Yanusa Keffi, Nasarawa State.

 

 

 

 

Reports have it that the kidnappers have since contacted Akande’s family and are demanding a ransom of N1m.

According to report, contacted the spokesperson for the FCT Police command SP Josephine Adeh, who declined comments, noting that she was behind the wheel.

“I’m driving, and I can’t make comments,” SP Adeh said.

 

 

 

 

When contacted over the development, the NYSC National Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, declined comments.

 

 

 

 

 

“I can’t comment now, let me call you back,” Megwa told newsmen on Saturday night

However, subsequent calls to his phone line could not connect as the NYSC spokesperson switched off his mobile line.

 

 

 

“The MTN number you’re trying to call is switched off,” the automated MTN service provider said.
