30-year-old man identified as Joseph Okoye, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly pouring anointing oil into the private part of a 10-year old girl for easy penetration before raping her.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Alabi Street, Alakuko area of Lagos, where the suspect resides with the girl’s parents.
The suspect allegedly came back from work on 27th January, 2022, by 4pm when the parents of the girl had gone to work to perpetrate the dastardly act.
He allegedly lured the girl into his apartment, locked the door from inside and then removed the girl’s pants to penetrate her but he could not penetrate her due to the size of his dick.
He then brought anointing oil, opened the girl’s private part, poured into it and had his way forcefully before allowing her to go while warning her not to tell anyone what happened.

However, the whole thing got exposed when one of their neighbours, Osakpanvwan James, 32, a partner in crime who knew that Okoye had slept with the girl, then on 30th January, 2022, again took the victim to their staircase and penetrated her from behind but they were caught in the act.
During interrogation, the girl mentioned both Okoye and James to have abused her and then narrated how Okoye poured the oil into her private part.
The matter was reported to the Police and they were arrested. Having been found culpable after thorough interrogation, the Police charged them before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty before the Court.
When they were arraigned, the Court did not take their plea after the prosecutor, Supol Bisi Ogunleye, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, ordered their remand in custody without an option of bail.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
The matter was adjourned till 9th March, 2022, for the report of the DPP to be available while the defendants will remain in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s report.
