Police operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, Lagos, have arrested a 29-year old lady,  Peace Chineye Ejiogu, for attempting to scatter a couple’s marriage by posting their sex video on social media.

Peace, was arrested at Omodunmi Street, Mushin area of Lagos, after she allegedly posted the sex action of the couple on social media when the couple failed to meet up with her financial demands as ransom.

The Police did not disclose how the lady obtained the couple’s sex video, which she was using to torment the couple for over one year.

According to the Police, since 2022 up till 2023, Peace has been tormenting the couple and was making demands from the husband, Eddy Ebube, to pay certain amount of money or she would upload the sex video on the social media.

The husband bargained and paid her N500,000 yet the suspect, Peace, obtained the money and still went ahead to upload the video on the social media.

Hence the couple wrote a petition to the Commissioner of Police over their predicament and the matter was referred to the SCID, Yaba, for further investigation over the alleged conduct.

The Police then trailed, eventually arrested Peace and detained her for interrogation over her alleged conduct. In the course of interrogation, she admitted to have done so but refused to reveal how she got the sex video.

Having been found culpable, the Police subsequently charged her before the Yaba Magistrate Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace by intimidating and blackmailing the complainant.

However, she pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.

The prosecutor, Inspector Modupe Olaluwoye, asked the Court for further date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Linda Balogun, granted her bail with conditions and ordered her remand in custody at the Correctional Centre pending when she will perfect her bail conditions while the matter was adjourned for mention.
