The Atiku Abubakar camp has reacted to the allegation made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Presidential Election Tribunal, Abuja that the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not a Nigerian by birth.
The Media Aide to the former Vice-President, Paul Ibe said it was an insult to Nigerians and the office of the Vice President which Atiku occupied for eight years for APC to say he is a foreigner.

“That is idiotic. It is idiotic. And it is ridiculous. Atiku Abubakar is a former Vice President of Nigeria.
“Are they telling us that a former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is not a Nigerian? That is disrespectful to Nigerians and for the office he has held, which other people will hold and will continue to hold.
“Everything must not be on the altar of politics,” Ibe said.

The APC Counsel at the Presidential Election Tribunal, Lateef Fagbemi had alleged that Atiku is a foreigner, a Cameroonian by birth and that he is not qualified to contest for any election in Nigeria in the first place.
