The non-actualization of June 12, 1993 election that voted massively for MKO Abiola was a national tragedy that is still recurring from time to time in Nigeria today and years to come.
Those who ganged up to frustrate and kill MKO in detention know themselves and God knows.
Those who also reaped where they did not sow and were still alive during the June 12 struggles but supported the military, enjoying this democracy that was founded through the blood of Democrats who were shot dead by the military while protesting against the annulment know themselves too.
The singular action of that annulment by former President Ibrahim Babangida (IBB) is the nemesis we are grappling with today, kidnapping, armed robberies, religious upheavals, ritual killings, unnecessary bloodshed by Boko Haram and incursion of criminals into Nigeria through our porous borders.
IBB is still alive, how would he feel today? Many deaths are hanging on his neck through his selfish actions against humanity.
History will continue to remember those who fought for and against June 12 struggles.

MKO Abiola still remains the Hero of Democracy that former President Olusegun Obasanjo, either out of envy refused to recognize despite his eight years sojourn in Aso Rock.
Without MKO former President Obasanjo would not have had the opportunity to stage a comeback. History will also remember Obasanjo for saying, “MKO Abiola is not the Messiah we are looking for.”
President Muhammadu Buhari will go down in history as a leader who came to right the wrongs by declaring June 12 every year as our Democracy Day in Nigeria.
Kudos to you, Mr President.
