Popular Radio Presenter, founder of Fresh FM in the Southwest and Gospel musician, Dr. in Yinka AYEFELE (MON) narrated his journey so far with the BBC Yoruba News.

AYEFELE said he started as a guitarist and backup to some veteran Juju Musicians including,Micho Ade, Toye Ajagun, Wale Thompson as so on before he joined the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
He said, while exhibiting his talents in songs, jingles and as Radio Presenter with the FRCN, late Kola Olawuyi discovered his talents and decided he should be working with him. It was at this time he had an accident in 1997.
“The journey into music started with Bitter Experience after I had a fatal accident and I was admitted at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan where I spent 11 months.

It was while I was in hospital bed my friend encouraged me to join my collections of music together to wax an album to fund my hospital bills abroad. That encouragement gave birth to my first record, Bitter Experience.”
“I didn’t know the album will be acceptable. When people loved my style of music, they started inviting me to perform at naming, birthday and burial ceremonies. That was when I stopped broadcasting with FRCN.”
“Later, I had the grace again to go back into broadcasting, I started again in Ekiti but when I discovered there were so much stress of travelling to and fro, I started an Online Radio for local contents for my fans abroad. When it became acceptable again, I decided to do a Feasibility study on getting a License to own a Radio.”

“One should understand his calling otherwise one would do someone else work without knowing it. It was because I had broadcasting experience, that was why it seemed so easy for me to float my own Radio in the Southwest.”
AYEFELE said people were saying he could not impregnate woman because of his spinal cord injury but he alone could tell what he could do. He said some peddled a rumour that he used his spinal cord to become popular and rich.
He said he thanked God he was not the only one the originator of the rumour, ‘ERELU’ peddled the rumour against. She said so many things about other celebrities that made people to think she is mentally deranged.
