The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has fixed judgement between Senator Ademola Adeleke and the State of Osun governor, Gboyega Oyetola for this Friday, March 22, 2019.
Senator Adeleke approached the tribunal headed by Justice T.A. Igoche to nullify the results that gave Gov Oyetola victory and declare him the winner.
Oyetola, the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission, are the respondents in the 593-page petition with file EPT/OS/Gov/1/2018.
Adeleke had polled the highest number of votes in the first ballot held on September 22, 2018, and the Returning Officer, Prof. Joseph Fuwape, declared the election inconclusive because the number of registered voters in the seven polling units where elections were cancelled was higher than 353 votes with which Adekeke led the runner-up.
