Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn alongside Cape Verde, Central African Republic and Liberia in Group C of the 2022 FIFA World Cup second round qualifying.
The draw ceremony was held at the Ritz-Carlton in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday evening.
The Eagles will be facing Cape Verde for the first time ever in a World Cup qualification series.
Algeria, African champions, were drawn in group A alongside Burkina Faso, Niger and Djibouti while Egypt, host country of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), secured group F to face Gabon, Libya and Angola.
Senegal, 2019 AFCON runners up, will battle Congo, Namibia and Togo in group H.
The ten-group winners will progress to the third and final round, which will feature five two legged play-offs ties.
The five winners of these play-offs will advance for the Qatar 2022.
The World Cup qualifiers are expected to kick off in October, 2020.
The main tournament will be played in Qatar between November 21 and December 18, 2022.
