The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has suspended its Resident Electoral Commissioner(REC) in Adamawa, Hudu Ari.

 

 

 

 

In a letter by INEC Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, directed the Administrative Secretary in Adamawa to take charge.

 

 

 

 

It was reported that the INEC headquarters in Abuja suspended the collation in Adamawa State yesterday after its Resident Electoral Officer, Hudu Ari announced the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Aishatu Binani winner, while collation of results of the supplementary governorship election from the remaining 10 Local Government Areas was still ongoing.

The development which sparked outrage in the state and across the country, with Governor Ahmadu Fintiri accusing  the REC of working for a gang.
